TDCSU Purchases Renewal Rights to Managed Care and Medical Professional Books of Business of OneBeacon

September 17, 2019—Today marks a very important day for TDC Specialty Underwriters (TDCSU). We are announcing that we have entered into a binding agreement with OneBeacon Insurance Group (“OneBeacon”) to purchase the renewal rights to OneBeacon’s Managed Care and Medical Professional Liability books of business, effective immediately.

Upon the expiration of each account, all OneBeacon policies will be eligible to be renewed and serviced by TDCSU for Managed Care Organizations’ Management Liability and Errors and Omissions coverages as well as Medical Professional Liability for Medical Facilities and Providers.

This renewal rights agreement further illustrates The Doctors Company’s commitment to supporting a broad range of healthcare organizations and individuals through its insurance subsidiaries and affiliates. TDCSU has assembled an exceptional team and expects the addition of this business to add to our growing presence in the healthcare liability insurance space. We are more committed than ever to be the most creative, thorough, and responsive partner to those brokers who work with us.

Selected members of the OneBeacon underwriting and claims staff will join TDCSU in conjunction with the transition of this business. The underwriting teams will continue to be led by Steve Spina, EVP, and the leaders specifically managing these business segments—Susan Angelo for the Managed Care business, Jeff McDonald for the Medical Facilities business, and Cheri Priddy for the Physician and Physician Groups business.
